Charter Hall is proud to be named an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE) by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA), for the second time.
An accreditation program for employers leading the way, Charter Hall was recognised for its impactful actions in career development; pay equity; recruitment, rotation and retention practices; degendered parental leave schemes and community partnerships.
Charter Hall Managing Director & Group CEO David Harrison said, “Charter Hall is a place for talent. Regardless of your background or personality, if you bring a passion, and a drive to do your very best, you are welcomed here."
“By leveraging our flat structure, way of working and learning experiences, we can equip our people with the skills and capabilities to achieve their personal and professional aspirations, and in turn make Charter Hall a great place to work.”
As the Property Council of Australia National President and a member of the Champions of Change Property Group, Mr Harrison plays a crucial role in furthering the gender equality agenda, both at Charter Hall and across the industry. Attracting and recruiting more women into property is a key area of focus, and he has actively championed the creation of female scholarships and targeted development programs.
Mr Harrison said, “One of the best ways to support women in moving up the leadership ladder is through visible senior female role models. That’s why we have a strong focus on our top female talent pipeline and a structured career acceleration program to improve representation across leadership and revenue generating roles.”
Partnering with groups advocating for and supporting women in vulnerable situations is also key to Charter Hall’s approach. Last year, it extended its long-term partnership with social enterprise Two Good Co., which supports individuals experiencing domestic and family violence.
Mr Harrison said, “We recently integrated Two Good Co. into our business value chain, installing 3,000 touchless soap dispensers made from recycled ocean plastic, across our nation-wide Office portfolio. I am extremely proud of this initiative, as it demonstrates our approach to using our supply chain to create social value.”
