Driving lasting change by partnering where we can make the most difference
Our greatest social opportunity is to help build community foundations that support prosperity in times of growth and provide stability in times of upheaval.
To do this, we focus our efforts in two key areas. Unlocking employment and learning pathways for vulnerable young Australians and delivering long-term support and capabilities to communities impacted by hardship.
Each year, we offer 1% of our profits, places and people's time to our community partners. Because in the right hands, 1% is a big deal.
Here's what we achieved in FY24:
People
We volunteered 3,766 hours, up 11% on last year.
- Personal and team volunteering.
- Dollar matched workplace giving.
- Employee-led initiatives to drive fundraising and volunteering opportunities, building engagement and deepening insight.
Places
Over $2.6 million of under-utilised space1 provided to community organisations and investment in community activations
- Activating vacant or underutilised spaces.
- Supporting new initiatives that create belonging.
- Identifying and addressing local community needs.
Partnerships
We donated over $1.4 million to support communities with resources to build and rebuild strong foundations.
- $450,000 donated to Australian Red Cross and The Foundation for Rural and Regional and Regional Renewal (FRRR) for disaster relief short and long-term.
- Over $2.6 million in spend with social enterprises comprising spend on social procurement with First Nations, Social Traders and Deductible Gift Recipient entities.
We work with a range of community partners who share our goal of developing the next generation of leaders and improving the health and well-being of communities across Australia.
Our sponsorships are an opportunity to engage with communities and deliver a measurable difference. Together, we support initiatives that foster inclusion and promote innovation.
Environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations are part of how we do business. It is embedded in everything we do. Across our strategy, operations, partnerships and decision-making.
