Founded by astute entrepreneur and philanthropist, Mary Raine, and proudly developed by Charter Hall, Raine Square is home to some of the most loved retail brands, highly awarded restaurants and unique small bars and cafés. Raine Square unites the very best of Perth’s retail, dining and entertainment in the heart of Perth city.

When Charter Hall purchased Raine Square in 2013, it was with the understanding that the redevelopment needed to be agile and responsive to the needs of the community. A comprehensive upgrade was necessary, but creative thinking was essential. The function of Raine Square would depend on a diverse and unique blend of retailers that would serve and inspire the local community to engage with the precinct.

Following a two-year redevelopment which opened in 2019, the precinct quickly became one of Perth city’s most dynamic and illuminous locations. Raine Square is Perth’s luxury fashion destination with global retailers Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Tiffany & Co. and Watches of Switzerland established in the precinct. The Wentworth Luxury Precinct has a commanding street presence, combining original architecture with a stunning glass box facade to beautifully refurbish and honour the heritage Wentworth building.

The centre’s convenience-based retail includes Coles supermarket, a medical centre, dentist, pharmacy, newsagent, and a wide range of food and beverage options, from everyday lunch to casual restaurants and fine dining. The Royal and Fleur welcome guests to the iconic heritage hotel and more recently, national brands Hunter & Barrel and Italian Street Kitchen opened to offer reputed casual dining options for City visitors. Raine Square houses the only cinema offering in the CBD with Palace Cinemas boasting a 13-screen premium cinema experience.

History is honoured at Raine Square with the precinct bound by three heritage buildings. The site was designed to pay homage, honour and celebrate some of the most significant and spectacular original architecture in Perth’s CBD. Along with its commitment to growing a community and city for the future, Raine Square is fortified by its partnership with the Raine Medical Research Foundation. In 1957, Mary Raine bequeathed her entire property estate – which included the Raine Square site - to the University of Western Australia for medical research, and thus the Foundation was created.

Raine Square is a proud supporter of local arts and culture, collaborating with over 35 artists since 2019. The precinct endeavours to inspire curiosity with thoughtful colour and culture, uncompromising imagination, and a devotion to self-expression. To honour this commitment, a spectacular mural transformed the wall in Queen Lane paying homage to Raine Square's namesake, Mary Raine, and the building's incredible history. The 13x13m interactive mural installation was painted by world renowned and local WA artist, Jerome Davenport, in 2021. He commenced works on February 17th, Mary Raine's birthday, and aptly completed the mural on March 8th in acknowledgement of International Women's Day.

Located immediately above the Raine Square retail centre is our 21-level office tower, Bankwest Place. The precincts occupy majority of the landmark 1.23-hectare site bounded by Murray, William, Wellington, and Queen Streets. Exceptionally walkable to multiple public transport options, retail and entertainment, amenities, and directly opposite the future new ECU City Campus, the precinct is situated in the heart of Perth’s city. Both locations benefit from onsite Wilson Parking and direct pedestrian access to the Perth Underground Rail and City Busport, as well as being a two minute walk to Perth’s entertainment and cultural precinct in Northbridge and an eight minute walk to Elizabeth Quay and RAC Arena.

Charter Hall commenced the office redevelopment in 2021, with the first phase of the Murray Street lobby reopening in January 2023. The reimagined arrival experience with innovative and collaborative design uses rich warm colours, natural finishes and textures, gentle curved forms and dynamic lighting curating a connected space for our community. Stage 2 of the redevelopment is underway with the project due for completion in 2024.
